-This match will proceed subject to any remaining COVID 19 restrictions in place on the match dates.
-The match will be conducted under SASS rules.
-Registration must be completed by May 30, 2022 and is limited to 60 registrants.
-Registrations may be emailed to 07dave12@gmail.com or mailed to the Vermilion Gun Club, Box 3174, Vermilion, Alberta, T9X 2B1.
-Registration information should include name, shooting handle, usual classification, number of meal tickets and contact info.
-Final classification will be determined at check-in Saturday morning.
-Full Entry Fee can be sent through E-transfer to vermiliongunclub@gmail.com, by check or paid upon registration on Saturday morning.
-Entry Fee for the two day match is $60.00 per person ($50.00 for VGC members). The meal on Saturday is $15.00 per person. The meal will be held after the shoot and swap meet and will be at the Johnston Private Campground.
-The gun range is located on NW22-49-06-W4. From Vermilion go south on Hwy. 41 to TWP 500, turn East on 500 to RR63 and turn south to the range.
-Registration at the gun range will begin at 08:00 on Saturday, June 4th. The Safety Meeting will begin at 09:00 and shooting will begin at 09:30. The meal on Saturday will follow the Swap Meet after conclusion of the days shooting and is being provided by Lasting Impressions Catering.
-A Match Copy will be emailed where possible to registrants after the May 30 cut-off. Further copies will be available the check-in table.
-The gates to the gun range will open at 08:00 on Sunday and the Safety Meeting will be at 09:00 with shooting to begin immediately afterword.
-Range setup for the Cowboy Match will commence at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 3, 2022.
-Practice will be permitted Saturday evening for those interested.
-Volunteers are needed to help out. Blaine is looking for Marshalls and Deputies, anyone interested in helping out can contact him at blaine.felt58@gmail.com.
ACCOMMODATIONS
-Unfortunately there is no camping on site.
-For those with trailers and wanting to camp we recommend the Johnston Private Campground located one mile west and two miles north of the club access road at TWP 500 and RR64 (NE17-50-06- W4).
-The Swap Meet and the meal will be held there.
-There are 11 sites with power and water at $27.00 per night and will be available on a first to register basis. There are numerous dry camping sites at
$10.00 per night.
-Contact Blaine Felt at blaine.felt58@gmail.com to register a camping spot. Fees for the campground can accompany the shoot registration.
-The easiest access is from Hwy. 16. Turn south on RR64 and go approx. 2 miles (3 km). Campground is on the west sideTWP 503/RR64.
-Ron Dyck is the campground manager and a sign will be in front of his trailer unit.
-The Vermilion Provincial Park is located in Vermilion. You can book a site at AlbertaParks.ca.
-There is a trailer dump located in the Provincial Park and behind the Shell Station in Vermilion.
-Four motels/hotels in town are the Pomeroy Inn & Suites (780-853-3066), Super 8 (780- 853-4741), Days Inn (780-853-4771) and the Ventura Inn (780-853-5375).
SWAP MEET
-For those interested there will be Swap Meet after the Saturday match and before the meal, both will be held at the Johnston Campground. Bring your wares.
-Don Johnston refurbishes wood stoves, will be displaying his work and have items for sale.
